箴20:1 酒能使人褻慢、濃酒使人喧嚷．凡因酒錯誤的、就無智慧。
Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
箴20:2 王的威嚇如同獅子吼叫．惹動他怒的、是自害己命。
The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion: whoso provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own soul.
箴20:3 遠離分爭是人的尊榮．愚妄人都愛爭鬧。
It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.
箴20:4 懶惰人因冬寒不肯耕種．到收割的時候、他必討飯、而無所得。
The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing.
箴20:5 人心懷藏謀略、好像深水．惟明哲人、纔能汲引出來。
Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.
箴20:6 人多述說自己的仁慈．但忠信人誰能遇著呢。
Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?
箴20:7 行為純正的義人、他的子孫、是有福的。
The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.
箴20:8 王坐在審判的位上、以眼目驅散諸惡。
A king that sitteth in the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes.
箴20:9 誰能說、我潔淨了我的心．我脫淨了我的罪。
Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?
箴20:10 兩樣的法碼、兩樣的升斗、都為耶和華所憎惡。
Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to the Lord.
箴20:11 孩童的動作、是清潔、是正直、都顯明他的本性。
Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.
箴20:12 能聽的耳、能看的眼、都是耶和華所造的。
The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the Lord hath made even both of them.
箴20:13 不要貪睡、免致貧窮．眼要睜開、你就喫飽。
Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread.
箴20:14 買物的說、不好、不好．及至買去、他便自誇。
It is naught, it is naught, saith the buyer: but when he is gone his way, then he boasteth.
箴20:15 有金子和許多珍珠．〔或作紅寶石〕惟有知識的嘴、乃為貴重的珍寶。
There is gold, and a multitude of rubies: but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.
箴20:16 誰為生人作保、就拿誰的衣服．誰為外人作保、誰就要承當。
Take his garment that is surety for a stranger: and take a pledge of him for a strange woman.
箴20:17 以虛謊而得的食物、人覺甘甜．但後來他的口、必充滿塵沙。
Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.
箴20:18 計謀都憑籌算立定．打仗要憑智謀。
Every purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war.
箴20:19 往來傳舌的、洩漏密事．大張嘴的不可與他結交。
He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.
箴20:20 咒罵父母的、他的燈必滅、變為漆黑的黑暗。
Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.
箴20:21 起初速得的產業、終久卻不為福。
An inheritance may be gotten hastily at the beginning; but the end thereof shall not be blessed.
箴20:22 你不要說、我要以惡報惡．要等候耶和華、他必拯救你。
Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the Lord, and he shall save thee.
箴20:23 兩樣的法碼、為耶和華所憎惡．詭詐的天平、也為不善。
Divers weights are an abomination unto the Lord; and a false balance is not good.
箴20:24 人的腳步為耶和華所定．人豈能明白自己的路呢。
Man's goings are of the Lord; how can a man then understand his own way?
箴20:25 人冒失說、這是聖物、許願之後纔查問、就是自陷網羅。
It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy, and after vows to make inquiry.
箴20:26 智慧的王、簸散惡人、用碌碡輥軋他們。
A wise king scattereth the wicked, and bringeth the wheel over them.
箴20:27 人的靈是耶和華的燈、鑒察人的心腹。
The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly.
箴20:28 王因仁慈和誠實、得以保全他的國位、也因仁慈立穩。
Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy.
箴20:29 強壯乃少年人的榮耀．白髮為老年人的尊榮。
The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the gray head.
箴20:30 鞭傷除淨人的罪惡．責打能入人的心腹。
The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly.
